Policies
With the addition of a new physician to our clinic, we are happy to announce short wait times! However, there are times where wait times are beyond our control due to a large number of patients needing to be seen.We understand that your time is valuable and it can be difficult to sit in the waiting room for a long stretch of time when you or a family member is unwell. We have and always will do our best to accommodate you as close to your appointment or walk-in/same day slot as possible, however, at certain times during the day or for certain doctors the wait can be long.
For Patients specific to Dr. Basel Bari’s practice:
Dr. Bari Practice-Patient Agreement (PDF)
There are several reasons for the long wait.
For appointments:
- Patients booked ahead of you had complications and therefore the doctor had to spend more time with them.
- Patients booked ahead of you had booked for only one person, but when inside the room they asked the doctor to see other family members as well. If more than the booked patient is seen, it will delay the rest of the appointments booked.
- There may have been several walk-ins (for urgent medical reasons) that were accommodated today and had to be squeezed in. Please note that priority is given to booked appointments.
- Patients booked a head of you have presented with multiple problems which may take more time than was allotted to them.
At times there may be delays beyond our control – please wait patiently for your appointment.
For Walk-in Patients:
- Patients with appointments are given priority. You will be accommodated in between appointments based on the medical reason you walked in for. We ask that you help reduce wait times by seeing which ever doctor can accomodate you the fastest.
- At times, you may not be able to see the doctor of your choice as the wait may be too long.
Walk-In Patients (patients without appointments) If the volume of patients in the office is very high the staff may stop accepting walk-in patients at any given time. We ask that you book appointments and only walk-in if it is absolutely necessary. If you are specifically wishing to walk-in for Dr. Bari, please call the office the day off, first thing in the morning to be given a walk-in/same day slot. Please note that you should only be requesting a same day/walk-in spot if medically urgent for that day.
The front desk staff have no reason to keep patients waiting longer than they should and will try to accomodate as quickly as possible. Inappropriate behaviour and/or language will not be tolerated!
Please note that these explanations apply to other physicians at our clinic.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Narcotic Medication:
Please be aware that physicians at this clinic will NOT under any circumstances repeat Narcotic medications. You should see your regular doctor for these medications.

Thank you.
